What to expect
The format for the weekend is a combination of keynote speakers, and workshops.
The weekend kicks off with a Cocktail party on the Friday night. On Saturday morning, after your choice of a variety of fitness activities, we come together for Breakfast and keynote speakers, before breaking off into workshops. We come together again for lunch, before breaking into workshops for the afternoon.
Outside of these workshops you have the opportunity to be indulged with a beauty treatment or massage, as well as health and wellness appointments. These will incur an additional cost to be paid directly to the provider. You are welcome to also browse the Market Stalls over the weekend, which feature small businesses from across Queensland.
All workshops, guest speakers and gourmet catering are included in your registration, however we strongly recommend bringing additional cash for the beauty treatments, the bar operating in the evening, and for purchases at the Market Stalls Area. While EFTPOS will be available, the internet may be intermittent! Best to be prepared đ
At Bulloo Park Quilpie, bathrooms including hot shower facilities will be provided. You are welcome to bring your own camping gear (caravan, camper trailer, van, tent etc) there is ample space provided for you to set up for the weekend at no extra cost. Alternatively, you are welcome to enjoy our tented accommodation which includes a stretcher, mattress, lined sleeping bag and pillow, and an LED lantern. These will be set up for your arrival on the Friday afternoon. Tented accommodation can be purchased when you book your event ticket online.
A little bit about Quilpie
Quilpie is a small but vibrant outback town in South West Queensland, around 950 kilometres west of Brisbane. Set on the banks of the Bulloo River and surrounded by vast grazing country, it is known for its strong pastoral heritage, boulder opal, striking red-earth landscapes and unmistakable sense of place.
The town is the main service centre for the wider Quilpie Shire, supporting surrounding cattle and sheep properties, local businesses and travellers moving through Queenslandâs Channel Country. Despite its remote location, Quilpie has a close-knit and welcoming community, with a strong tradition of bringing people together through local events, arts, sport and community celebrations.
For visitors, Quilpie offers a true taste of outback Queensland – Think big skies, spectacular sunsets, historic buildings, opal fossicking, local art and plenty of country hospitality! Channel Country Ladies Day was last held in Quilpie in 2021.

When will I be able to access a complete Program of Events?
The Program of Events will be released closer to the date of the event. Check out the Program of Events page for all the details. You will also receive a printed program booklet upon your arrival at the event.
What happens at registration?
Registrations will be open on Friday afternoon from 4pm â 6pm. Once you’ve arrived at the site, park up and drop into our Registration Tent between 4-6pm. Then, settle in, set up camp and make any bookings for health services and beauty appointments (if you haven’t booked them prior, which we do recommend). Then it’s time to get ready, grab a complimentary drink before the eveningâs entertainment commences from 6pm!
What sort of accommodation is available in Quilpie?
We have tented accommodation available on site. For those who have booked the tented accommodation, a camping bed, sleeping bag and pillow are provided, along with a LED light. Simply bring a towel. For everyone camping, there are ample toilets and hot showers for your convenience. For those camping independently, there is a big flat on which you can camp. Please do not expect a powered site â we have had problems in the past with this overloading the generator. Please bring your own generator if you need power, but please be respectful of other campers.
Please do remember to bring a torch to ensure you can see your way to the amenities after dark!
What is the catering like on the weekend?
The weekend will be entirely catered for by gourmet caterers. The experience begins with canapés on Friday night and concludes with an early lunch on Sunday. Please be sure to advise us of your dietary requirements upon registration, so to allow our caterers to consider any additional needs or limitations. We work very closely with our caterers in the lead up to and over the weekend to ensure that all dietary requirements are fully catered for, and bring you a weekend of high quality and fresh gourmet meals.
What is the dress code for the weekend?
Wear whatever you feel gorgeous in! Definitely bring a hat. The venue is a combination of undercover and outdoor (shaded) spaces, however being quite remote and amongst the red dust, wearing white may not be so preferable! October is always starting to get warmer during the day, with cooler evenings. We recommend a light jumper or cardigan for the evenings as the temperature does drop off at night.
What is the theme for this yearâs evening events?
Over the weekend, we have two themed evening events, one on Friday and one on Saturday.
The themed nights are always a lot of fun and have become a really popular part of the weekend. There are usually plenty of creative outfits, a few very committed costumes and, of course, some âbest dressedâ prizes up for grabs.
Across both evenings, youâll be well looked after with cocktails at the bar, canapĂ©s, dinner and plenty of time to catch up and enjoy yourself. Then weâll dance into the night with live music from the fabulous Maggie Burey.
Dressing to the theme is completely optional, so wear whatever you feel comfortable in. That said, lots of women do get into the spirit of it, and over the years weâve seen some pretty impressive, and occasionally very wild, outfits!
Friday evening themed event and suggested attire
Friday evening calls for your finest Bridgerton splendour.** Think silks, pearls, gloves, feathers, lace, corsets, flowing gowns, puff sleeves, floral prints and all manner of finery. Add a statement necklace, a decorative fan, a fascinator, a ribbon in your hair or even a tiara if the mood takes you. For those who prefer trousers, a linen or tailored suit, waistcoat, crisp shirt or vintage-inspired jacket will fit the occasion beautifully. This is the night to have some fun and go all out, for one never knows who may be watching.
Saturday evening themed event and suggested attire
Saturday evening shall remain ever so elegant, though slightly more pared back.** Think flowing maxi or midi dresses, florals, soft colours, linen, relaxed tailoring and beautiful vintage touches. A floaty skirt and blouse, wide-leg pants with a dressy top, a linen suit or a simple dress dressed up with pearls, earrings, a scarf or a lovely hair accessory would all be right at home. Comfortable boots, sandals, wedges or flats are very welcome too. After all, there will be dancing to be done!

What EFTPOS or ATM facilities are there in Quilpie?
In Quilpie, we will have limited EFTPOS facilities. While all catering and guest speakers are included in your registration, and most of the stalls will have EFTPOS facilities, we recommend bringing cash in case of technical issues. The cash bar will also be operating. You’ll be able to indulge in a bit of shopping from the amazing line up of stalls, and bid on auction items. Itâs always better to head home with spare cash in your purse, then to run short, so we recommend getting some cash out on your way to the event.

How can I book a pamper or beauty service?
A suite of service providers who are encouraging our ladies to spend some time on themselves will be in attendance. If you are one of the many of us looking to indulge in a massage treatment, beauty or hair appointment, you will have the opportunity to make an appointment with the provider of your choice by contacting them prior to the event. Hair, beauty and massage appointments will be able to be booked soon, check back to the website and social pages for the latest updates!
As the treatments vary in length, the committee has asked contributors to take their own bookings to avoid mix-ups. All expenses are a direct exchange between yourself and the provider.
Where can I get fuel?
The BP Fuel Truckstop in Quilpie has diesel and unleaded fuel available 24/7 with access via a credit card (unmanned pumps).
What else should I pack for the weekend?
The mozzies can get pretty nasty out this way, we definitely recommend bringing some repellant. A pair of thongs is always handy for walking to and from the showers, as well as a hat for sun protection during the day. We also recommend bringing a large water bottle, we have water stations located across the grounds.
