Nikki Parkinson is a former journalist-turned blogger, author and now fashion designer. Nikki is considered one of Australia’s pioneering professional bloggers.
Nikki’s blog, Styling You, is a Queensland micro business Telstra Business Award winner, has a readership of more than 100,000 per month and attracts sponsorship from national brands such as FRANKiE4 Footwear, Allianz travel insurance, Priceline and Dermalogica.
Most recently, Nikki launched her own fashion label, Styling You The Label, offering trans-seasonal everyday wardrobe and travel basics that take the stress out of the what-to-wear or what-to-pack question.
In 2018, Nikki kick-started the #shopitforward movement to encourage shopping online at businesses based in drought-affected areas to help boost the economy of those communities. This campaign achieved national exposure, including an appearance on The Today Show.
At the core of all that she does is her love of helping and supporting women to find greater confidence through their everyday style.
Starting a business on your own is equal parts exciting, daunting and terrifying. But what if you woke up one day and realised that you wanted to put all those fears aside and grow something that was yours; something that enabled you to work the hours you wanted to work around your family; something that got you so pumped to get out of bed each day; and something that would enable you to connect with other like-minded women?
Styling You’s Nikki Parkinson left her relatively secure career as a journalist to do just that. In building a business from the ground up she quickly learned that harnessing the power and connections of her sisterhood not only helped her grow, it ensured that much more fun was had along the way. In her keynote at the Channel Country Ladies Day, Nikki will share five ways you can harness the sisterhood to grow your business while supporting others with theirs. Along with the keynote, Nikki will be running two workshops, be on our Entrepreneur Panel, and be organising a fashion parade showcasing her new label.
